About the Museum
The Breton Museum was established by the Breton and District Historical Society in 1986. In 2006, the Museum joined the Alberta Museums Association Recognized Museum Program, and has remained a recognized museum ever since.
The Breton and District Historical Museum has operated out of the towns old two room school house since 1987. Built in Breton circa 1948, the Museum is one of the oldest buildings in Breton that is still in its original location.
Our building has undergone multiple renovations over the years, but remains a recognizable piece of local history.
